Review of The Imitation Game (2014) by Tristan M — 05 Dec 2015
This movie covers one of the genres that is slightly covered of WWII, but not in this perspective. We know of course that the allies break enigma, and fewer know that the nazis at one point detected it and reset it, but as a whole this movie is a good basic coverage of the events.
I don't know how true to life they are, in sure the part of his being gay is and some other parts, but the love story, marriage, and many of his colleges stories are surely not true. His machine is truely amazing, ahead of its time as was enigma, and it's a cool story to follow.
It may have been a bit slow, but it's not a action packed war movie at all. Any action scenes were few and war between and simply showed the destruction of the Battle of the Atlantic. The CGI for there scenes are garbage, looked horrible, it was good that they didn't last long.
The acting and script were both good, and with the story keeps it entertaining and interesting, even if it was a bit slow. Benedict is a good actor, plays his part well as Alan, who is a bit of an interesting character.
He's amusing to watch, and makes the film more interesting and a slight sense if humor to it, which is nice. Overall it's a good movie, everything is done fairly well, but horrible CGI, slow pace, cheesy love story.
Watch it once and you'll have enjoyed it enough.
