Review of The Imitation Game (2014) by James S — 30 Apr 2016
The beautifully executed and slick, 'Imitation Game', gives us a fascinating insight into one of World War II's most important aspects. I found the reveal of Enigma; as well as the vast statistical difficulties associated with it, to be incredible.
We are introduced to Alan Turing, and it is immediately obvious that he is going to be an particularity interesting character. Cumberbatch portrays him perfectly, capturing his extensive intelligence, as well as his significant social difficulties.
The surrounding characters complement our lead perfectly, and are also not overused, so as to focus on Turing. Touching moments occurred throughout, although its finale was particularly heartfelt.
