Review of The Imitation Game (2014) by Lanre O — 22 Nov 2015
Perhaps one of the most under-the-radar best picture nominees of 2014, but a fantastic one nonetheless. Benedict Cumberbatch definitely commands the show, but he's surrounded by an all-star cast that accurately depicts the war-torn cultural climate of Alan Turing's day - namely Keira Knightley, who is a formidable supporting actress.
It's hard to imagine that one man's mathematical vision had such a profound impact in the course of World War II. At the same time, the undertone of his personal life speaks to audiences on a much deeper level.
