Hey, have you seen a Terry Gilliam movie in the past decade? You know how they're beautiful but labor on and on pointlessly? And it's so sad because he used to make beautiful films that touched your soul? Yeah, same thing here.
It's beautiful. It may be his most mesmerizing film visually. Unfortunately, the story is extremely vague, and only meets verisimilitude demands of an eighth grader. I say you should see it because it has a fantastic cast who all do a great job(can you honestly pass up an opportunity to see Tom Waits as the devil), and because the imagery is just plain gorgeous.
Don't expect more, though.
