A film from the brilliant, imaginative & wacky mind of Terry Gilliam. This brought back very fond memories of my favourite childhood film, The Time Bandits, which was also from Terry Gilliam. Finally finished after the untimely death of Heath Ledger & released posthumously with Johnny Depp, Jude Law & Colin Farrell taking up Ledger's role through an altered image of his character in Dr Parnassus' mind. Although intriguing & clever using this perceived image of ourselves I think they should had stuck with Johnny Depp as this kind of film is right up his street.
Dr Parnassus possess the ability to control your imagination via his mind & gives you a choice of enlightenment or blind ignorance. But Dr Parnassus has a dark secret. Centuries earlier he made a deal with the devil & won with the prize being immortality. Fast forward a couple more centuries & deeply in love Dr Parnassus meets the devil yet again & strikes another deal granting him eternal youth. But this time the deal has drastic consequences because when his daughter reaches her 16th birthday she'll belong to the devil.
