Review of The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009) by Luis R — 01 Sep 2012
That's it I am offically over Terry Gilliam. I've given him more than enough chances and he's disappointed me with everything he's made after Fisher King and that was 91.
The story is too disjointed, too many unanswered questions and takes a sharp left turn into darker material that doesn't gel with the rest of the story. Performances are good (especially loved an all too brief role from Tom Waits) and visually its captivating and just weird enought to work for Gilliam but it can't carry the weight of this doomed film.
