Review of The Illusionist (2006) by Kevin S — 27 Aug 2013

This is a story about a magician named eisenheim who does all these amazing magic acts and starts to gain stardom. For his next act he does one a girl who is familiar to him. They were once friends when they were teenagers and as the act is being done they recognize each other and fall in love.

The problem is she is about to be married to the prince who has a record of being abusive to woman when they try to pry away from him. At first I did not have good expectations with this movie. I did not think it was going to be good.

I was surprised at how good it is. The magic tricks performed were amazing and well acted out by Ed norton. Inspector Uhl was played by one of my faves Paul Giamatti. Jessica beil was perfect in her role and Rufus Sewell who as I enjoy as a villain was one here and as a villain I think he is very enjoyable.

I also liked the little twist at the end. its kind of surprising but I would give it away. I think if you are interested in magicians and magic I think this movie would be up your alley.
