Yes, The Illusionist is not very believable, however, that does not mean it does not allow you to suspend what you know to be true for the two hour spectacle, just as in Eisenheim's performances. Edward Norton shines as always in the lead role and is central to mystical and magical nature of the film that makes it so enjoyable.
