Review of The Illusionist (2006) by Josh L — 19 Jun 2011
It's impossible not to compare this to one of my favorite movies "The Prestige", I'm a little biased in that sense because no matter what I'm going to say that it's a better film, however I liked the illusionist very much.
Edward Norton gives the best performance of his career, except for maybe 25th hour, another one of my favorites, I thought his accent was spot on and he played the character to perfection. Paul Giamatti is such a good actor and he's as good as ever, Jessica Beil is even pretty good.
This is a well acted story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, I strongly recommend it.
