Review of The Illusionist (2006) by Christian W — 20 Mar 2013
A very clever movie with great visuals. It gets at the heart of Victorian ideals and demonstrates the beauty of wonder. The movie synopsis is a bit misleading, though. The magician is not supernaturally talented, just really good.
All the tricks shown in the movie, at least all I can remember, were done in the Victorian era, even though having ghost people on stage would not have looked nearly so good.
