Review of The Illusionist (2006) by Matthew A — 18 Aug 2017
A gripping thriller about an illusionist in early 20th century Vienna who uses his powers to secure the love of an upper class woman. The art direction and photography makes the film look absolutely stunning and though the story occasionally tangles a little, the ending makes it all rewarding.
Good performances by Norton and Giamatti add to the appeal of the film.
