Review of The Illusionist (2006) by Vicky L — 06 Nov 2013
After I first watched the film, I reckon it is another film playing with tricks, betrayal and romance, in which the best part may be the ending revealing the true "fraud" beneath. However, the part I believe stands better than the Prestige is that it plays with "belief" and "appear".
Everybody believes Norton is the poor one being bullied by the prince and inspector, and the inspector is so stupid to be fooled around by the prince, and magic is what Norton uses to rebel against. NO, the belief that sustained my view for the entire two hours collapses entirely at last.
The story only contains two lays of cheating, however, in the real world, you may never find out the true murderer.
