Review of The Idolmaker (1980) by Mel J — 20 May 2007
A great movie with a touch of cheese. The acting and story are pretty damn good. The tunes are catchy and fit well with the film's 50s-60s time period. Ray Sharkey really shines in this role as the producer/ idolmaker.
Peter Gallagher and Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos) had their debut in this movie and played their parts well. Catch a small part by Marcia from the Brady Bunch. If you're into musical biographies, this just might be the movie for you!
