Review of The Ides of March (2011) by Tim W — 01 Nov 2012
The best highly-touted blockbuster I've seen in a long time!
I have no knowledge of American politics and little interest, however, it contained political nuances which could be followed by the layman whilst appearing seemingly credible (again - ahem - to the layman).
Whilst only being about an hour-and-a-half long, it managed to contain a lot of events and maintain a very exciting pace without ever hurrying on any scenes to the detriment of the film. Another plaudit was the way the turns in the plot allowed the unfolding and eventual exposure of the characters.
