The politics of politics.

The key to developing a good story is having good, multi-dimensional characters - then the plot / story should follow, innit?

Through watching this I just kept thinking (characters aside) whoa, what an awesome plot.

I can't watch this with anyone because I turn into a nazi and just go, "are you paying attention? don't get a coffee, i'll pause it. wait for this bit it's important.".

I fell in love with evan rachel wood's character and could identify with her sarcastic wit and precocious 'tude. or at least it's what I think I emulate on my best days when really I have food in my hair or something.

Also fell in love with gosling. before viewing, I snubbed him thinking he was just a hollywood hunk but I mean, he really is one of our generation's best actors.

Phillip seymour hoffman... I expect nothing less than his consistent and understated performances.

Giamatti is great at playing the weasel card.

Clooney is the king. to exemplify how important he is I dub other men with a cloon.

Suffix. for example antonio banderas is spanish_cloon. jeff goldblum is jew_cloon. ernie dingo is coon_cloon. I myself am fringe_cloon. we are all just children of a lesser cloon.
