Review of The Identical (2014) by Matthew K — 18 Sep 2014
The Identical is another Christian movie with a decent budget, a couple of good aspects and a lot of mess! This film, like many faith-based films, has bad writing, bland directing, poor make-up, and outside a few cast members, talentless acting.
We see stereotypical themes, painful cliches, and even some questionable morals (plus a plot-hole or two).
The top billed actors do well for the most part (excluding the lead, who though a decent not-Elvis, is not a good actor) and a couple of the songs are good (and only a couple!), but they aren't nearly enough to bring this not-Elvis movie out of being something to laugh at rather than laugh with.
If you don't care about poor filmmaking and just want to see another Christian film or you like to laugh at the incredible amount of mistakes made, this movie is for you.
