Review of The Iceman (2012) by Ian G — 09 Sep 2012
A solid if unoriginal character piece to showcase yet another intense performance from method actor Michael Shannon playing a numb contract killer who is exceptional good at what he does and is brought in to a new mob family which brings him great fortune for his loving family which brings out some of his sole emotion.
A lot of the cast with the possible exception of Captain America's Chris Evans are pretty much cast to type so there isnt a lot of surprises or stretchs really, and it would be cool to see more of a stretch of Shannon's characters youth other than the all too brief flashbacks to get more into how he became this way.
Not bad but could have been more.
