A cold, disturbing thriller that, although inconsistently paced, features a compelling true crime story, a great cast and a standout, award worthy performance from Michael Shannon, who is slowly building a definitive, original and menacing body of work reminiscent of early DeNiro.
One of the darkest films I've seen in years.
