Review of The Iceman (2012) by Shane Z — 01 Jan 2014
12-7-2013.
Based on true events, "THE ICEMAN" follows the life of Richard Kuklinski (Michael Shannon) - one of American's most contract killers. After he was arrested in 1986, he claimed he killed over 100 people for the mob and his own pleasure from 1964 to 1986. Kuklinski was not only a killer but a husband and a father, his wife and two daughters never had a clue about his real profession. "THE ICEMAN" is sleek and filled with grit and energy. Michael Shannon studied the hitman enough to have a riveting and creepy and weird performance despite that the script needed to be more fully realized and maybe be 20 minutes more longer.
Shannon's character's two sides, being a psycho and a caring man and father, is still good because you feel for him.
"LOVING HUSBAND DEVOTED FATHER, RUTHLESS KILLER.".
