I no longer watch a film and try to determine how closely it is "based on a true story". A Beautiful Mind cured me of that. This film is worth watching because of Shannon's performance and to see Ryder back where she belongs.
It has all the desired elements without forfeiting humanity. Would rather have seen this with a different, less stark, title, but just about every other choice that went into the film works for me and was more than worth watching.
