Review of The Ice Storm (1997) by Jason L — 21 Jul 2008
Definitely enjoyed this while watching, great drama, great acting. Immediately after, though, I thought that the little speeches given throughout were a bunch of pretentious philosophical aspirations slapped onto an otherwise simple movie.
Only after some thought did I realize that's kindof the point. All of the speeches come from kids, forced into adults' shoes by their parents' irresponsibility. They're in over their heads and it shines through in their overly-adult speech and actions.
Really like this one now. Looking forward to Lee's other stuff.
