Review of The Ice Storm (1997) by Jason R — 03 Oct 2009
Almost the same feeling I had with the book. The disturbing situations are elegantly blurred/suggested in the film, which might be a good thing, but in the other hand, that makes it a bit more "conventional" despite it is not (the problem maybe that there are several movies about disfunctional families already).
The sardonic and dark amusement the book had is also in the film but with the intensity below the book if I keep comparing. Have the feeling that without reading the book, the film would rate quite higher, but.
