Review of The Ice Pirates (1984) by Tom B — 20 Oct 2009

I remembered this from when I was a kid. When I decided to watch it I as thinking that perhaps it was a campy gem. I was wrong. Too much of the humor relies on slapstick exchanges between robots. I think this is a Star Wars spoof that preceeds Space Balls, but lacks the cleverness.

Despite a great cast including Angelica Huston and Ron Perlman (who's inclusion makes any movie better), it falls flat and it is a chore to try to watch this move. 2 stars instead of one because of Ron Perlman.
