Review of The Hustler (1961) by Peter P — 15 Nov 2010
Great Paul Newman movie about pool hustling and the challenge of taking on Minnesota Fats to become the best pool player in the world. Overall it is a good story, with Newman and Gleason playing great off each other, and George C.
Scott does an amazing job, looking thinner, in better shape and more menacing then I have ever seen him before. It was a little weird watching this, being in black and white, seeing as when it was made, but in the end it works well, although the girl friend situation seemed kinda forced.
