Review of The Huntsman: Winter's War (2016) by Steven B — 28 Apr 2016
You'd think with a budget greater than some 3rd world countries and a stellar cast they'd make a good movie; think again. Not one other Old Geezer Who Goes To The Matinee Alone showed up. . .actually no-one else showed up; normally when that happens I'm in a scary movie, but this one was just plain dull.
Not sure who to blame for this dog; most of the actors did their best. Charlize Theron was really chewing the curtains. The Hemsworth kid (I get them mixed up but I think this is the one who plays Thor) was charming and Emily Blunt was stunning.
But none of this helps a badly disjointed movie. The CGI was mediocre and the story. . .such as it was, was nonsense. Unless you are really into these things I cannot recommend this one.
