Review of The Huntsman: Winter's War (2016) by Marco Santos R — 21 Jun 2016
In this movie get to see chris, again as the woodchop... huntsman, leading a small fellowship of the mirror with a couple of comic relief dwarfs. As bad as it sound it is actually worse. It left me thinking tolkien's hobbits were awesome.
At alternate and random times during the journey, the mirror does its best to impersonate the one ring and whisper some evil thoughts on characters, but it never feels very convincing to me. I think it's because I can't wield it and it can't even make me disappear. It makes a very poor case when trying to seduce me with power.
In the end there isn't even an epic battle, let alone a war. Why would you call a movie "winter's war" if there is none to be seen? Charlize does make a cute evil stepmother although that's really all she does the whole movie. It gets a few points for making me remember willow...
