This movie on it's own would be a decent enough film. As it stands being a prequel/sequel it has massive plot holes that are not addressed at all. The largest by far is that in the original Ravena had a brother with no mention of a sister at all. She and in extension he have been alive for what she says is 20 lifetimes. Where did Freya come from and where is the brother in the first part of the film before Snow White conquered Ravena's kingdom? The second hole I couldn't get around is in SW&TH, Eric finds out that Sara was killed by the brother that doesn't exist in this film. How could he not have known who killed her if he saw it himself as is the case in this film?

Lastly has to do with the "true love's kiss" that brought Snow back to life. Just an observation but how is it true love when he is still truly in love with Sarah?

So, plot holes aside. The movie is overall light even though it has a dark story line. You root for Eric and Sarah. You feel sorry for Freya because you realize from the very beginning that her sister did this to her. It's a nice little departure for an afternoon with the older kids. It will never be a blockbuster or win any awards but if you haven't seen the first one this isn't a bad choice.
