I'm not a fan of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan novels, but this is a pretty decent movie. It's well directed, but it requires you to know everything there is to know about a nuclear submarine. Still, I admire it for not dumbing it down like a Jerry Bruckheimer movie would.
