Review of The Hunt for Red October (1990) by Jeffrey A — 23 Sep 2012
A thrilling submarine adventure that serves as the first adapted Tom Clancy book is "The Hunt for Red October". The plot is Jack Ryan in the end of the Cold War days. A Russian submarine legend is defecting but the US military thinks he is taking a nuclear submarine off the coast of New York to wage an attack.
Ryan knows better. The ending gets a little crazy and off steps the realism that the rest of the film offers. Still, this is a very effective submarine action/drama and comes recommended.
