Review of The Hunt (2013) by Darian D — 30 Jul 2013
The Hunt is one of those films that is so infuriating, it's hard to watch, but is so gripping, you can't look away. Much like Arthur Miller's The Crucible, it presents an honest man fighting for his life as the result of a crime he did not commit, but the assumed innocence of children damns him without trial.
The whole cast is brilliant, walking the line between rage and remorse for their lost friend. But it is Mikkelsen who carries the weight of the film; he was awarded best actor at Cannes two years ago for his performance, and damn did he deserve it.
A film no one will enjoy watching, but everyone should see.
