This was the most thought-provoking film I have seen in a very very long time. Mads Mikkelsen's portrayal of an unjustly accused man is brilliant. You become completely engrossed in the man's struggle and your heart breaks scene after scene for the dilemma he is in.
Mikkelsen is able to capture the loyalty of the audience and bring you on this hideous journey even when the topic leaves you squirming in your seat. You feel how uncomfortable he is from the very beginning and evolve with the character as he discovers that those closest to him are able to turn their backs on an instant.
The supporting cast is equally as talented. You feel engulfed in this community's problems and can envision how such a misunderstanding can occur.This movie had us talking for hours about the dilemma of accusation and truth.
A genius film that will leave you thinking.
