The way Mads Mikkelsen conveys the agony and despair of his character elevates The Hunt to a level that is seldom reached by films based on the trials of a single character. The film is pushed even higher by the strong connection that Thomas Vinterberg creates to allow the audience to experience Lucas's emotions.
