Review of The Hunt (2013) by Josep P — 26 Jun 2014
False accusations have to be some of the most disgusting actions we can do to others. "The Hunt" challenges us to see these horrific dehumanization of said accusations. The premise is about a man who's falsely accused of committing child molestation.
In a lesser film, the people who find themselves turning against the accused would do so by being unreasonably evil. What's so terrifying about this film is how it shows how impressionable and naïve we can be.
How easy it to justify thoughts or worse actions solely based on hearsay. Not even so much as offering a helping hand just to spare a moment of embarrassment. To see things happen to Lucas is nothing short of heartbreaking.
The Hunt is a painful reminder of the dangers of group mentality and how easy it is to betray our neighbor. 10/10.
