Review of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015) by Arthur R — 14 Jun 2016
Plagued by the same pitfalls as the first film, huge plot holes and devices that marr what should be a spectacular film. The underlying themes of social injustice and inequality are powerful but the grit and harrowing realism that should be on display is sugar-coated with teen melodrama (not to mention the inexplicable transition to zombie films) that completely glaze over the central issues. This entire series could have been so much better...
Resonant Line: "Johanna Mason: Anybody can kill anybody, Katniss. Even a president. You just have to be willing to sacrifice yourself.".
