Review of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015) by Ranny L — 23 May 2016
This film is definitely a must see! The special effects are spectacular and will leave you in awe. Tons of suspense, action and a thrilling grand finale end this enjoyable series of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2. It's everything I thought it would be and more. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this film.
The war continues and Katniss Everdeen takes down President Snow for all the right reasons. There is nothing she won't do to defeat him, even if it takes an army to do so. Jennifer Lawrence's performance as Katniss Everdeen is wonderful. She embodies her character fully with realistic emotions and strength. When she is grieving you feel her pain. Everyone who knows me knows I absolutely love Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark), so it's not a surprise that he is my favorite character. Peeta adds so much to the story line and compliments Jennifer Lawrence's outstanding performance.
This film has a lot of twist and turns and has the audience jumping at every moment. The dead bodies in the underground fight scenes look extremely real and scary. Not only is this one of my favorite scenes, but it is very intense as well. This scene will definitely get your heart pumping, especially because it comes out of nowhere. I enjoy the aerial shots and cinematography which get you right into the film. The musical score by James Newton Howard fill the film with dramatic sounds that bring the scenes to its fullest heights.
This film leaves the audience with a great message. While you try to achieve your goals there will be obstacles in your way. Press forward and don't give up until you reach your goal.
This film is rated PG-13 for its intense sequences of violence that may be inappropriate for younger ages. I recommend it for ages 13 to 18 and give it 4 out of 5 stars. At times things are a bit predictable, however, that does not take away from how great this film is.
