Review of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015) by Colin S — 24 Sep 2016
At times very brutal and yet again an exercise in the slow attrition of otherwise engaging characters (something I'm not usually fond of), but Lawrence is at her best here as someone simply trying to hold it together and be her own person, and she is so very watchable doing it.
Moore looks almost inhuman in some bits and it's great to see, as is the opposing energy of Shields becoming so sympathetic that she almost achingly becomes the audience's younger sibling (with results that really resound by the end of the movie).
Also excellent to see Christie and Henson briefly, and Dormer and Odair are as charismatic as ever. The squaring off of Hutcherson and Hemsworth is unfortunately a little boring.
