Review of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014) by Another_Nerd — 03 Dec 2014
A movie which went perfectly with the book. Now that is what makes a good adaptation. The direction was great - Lawrence (well, both of them) mesmerized again with his skills, everything went good.
But, the same concept of having two parts for Mockingjay has its cons, which will not be overlooked by many. Nobody sees the point in making two parts. A lot of the parts in Part I could have been skipped, and be merged with the finale.
At the same time, this characteristic is what earned Catching Fire the thumbs-up as well. The book was slow, no doubt. But, it is a book all the same. In that sense, yes, Mockingjay I is a job very well done.
