Review of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014) by Jim P — 29 Mar 2015

I only gave this film 2 stars for the actors... That's it.

This film was a MAJOR disappointment to say the least. After the movie ended I heard my daughter say "That's it?!" and that's exactly how I felt. The movie was boring.... Nothing happened, this movie was all set up and it didn't have a payoff.

This is 'Mockingjay: Part 1', and I don't fell that two parts of the film 'Mockingjay' was necessary. In my opinion, the people in charge of the movie should've cut stuff out to make one two and a half hour movie instead f trying to make two halves like they did in the last two Harry Potter movies.

At least 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1' was worthwhile and had action. This had none of that. It was boring...boring...BORING. Partway through the movie the lead girl shoots a down plane and I finally allow myself to think that we are about to get some fun... Nope. More boringness after that.

In the movie their was a scene in which guys in tree's make the ground explode killing the bad peacekeepers and then their was a scene in which people blew up a dam,.. That was a little fun but I was looking for something to really pop and nothing did. I felt as if I was wasting my time watching this movie. What sucks is that they talked about war but we didn't get to see any of it.

Another few nitpicks: That love triangle between Peeta, Gale and Katniss doesn't work... I don't believe it, especially between Gale and Katniss.

Like I said before, I gave this film 2 stars... One for Peeta. One for Katniss. Plus, I really liked the introduction of the lady with the half shaved head... She was neat.

In conclusion: If the first film made me feel the way I felt after watching this film... I would not have wasted my time to watch the rest of the 'Hunger Games' series. This was a big disappointment.
