I definitely commend this movie for sticking to their source material as closely as they did. Although I am still not sold in the casting choice for the character of Peeta, I think all performances were good here.

President Coin was well chosen. The way the rebellion escalates is better represented here than it is in the books, but that is to be expected. Overall, not a bad first half, although this book did not need to be split into two movies.
