Review of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014) by Dom M — 23 May 2015
This film is a true triumph. How director Francis Lawrence went from the action packed predecessors to this more dialogue fueled movie and still have in gripping and emotionally impactful is truly magnificent.
Everything about this movie is great. The gripping performances, quick script, and Josh Hutchersons (Peeta Mellark) stunning yet unsettling body transformation. There is nothing about this movie I did not thoroughly enjoy.
The only reason I left off a star is because even though this was good and pt. 2 I have high hopes for, it feels like a cash grab to split it into two movies.
