I didn't like the Mockingjay book, but I did like this. I was worried that splitting the book into two films would make this first part drag, but it didn't at all. I think the key difference is Jennifer Lawrence - she is so perfect as Katniss that even if the film doesn't match the first two, you follow because of her.
She's a megastar, and the equal of the likes of Moore, Hoffman, Sutherland and co around her.
