Review of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) by Mcclappaty — 02 Dec 2013
I thought that an absolutely incredible book was turned into a truly great film. If I had gone to the cinema expecting an action film of epic proportions with bucket loads of CGI and explosions, then I may have been a little disappointed.
However, what I did see was a film with a gripping storyline that was both dark and disturbing in a way that kept me on the edge of my seat. If I had to give a criticism, it would be that we do not feel the same sympathy towards the majority the tributes than in the first instalment as they rarely speak which makes it harder to connect with them.
All in all though, a really good film. I just hope that the third achieves the same standards as the first two.
