Review of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) by Vikki M — 28 Dec 2014
This kind of wobbles somewhere between 6/7 out of 10 for me, so I've erred on the side of caution. As with the novels, I think this is much more interesting and entertaining than the first, which is often not the case for the second part of a trilogy (or in the case of the films, a quadrilogy) but there was something lacking.
I felt very little empathy for most of the main characters, which is a big problem for me with a film of this kind. I thought this about the books too, so it may very well be the fault of the source material, but I just felt that this was a story that could have been told better.
