KATNISS IS BACK!
I was surrounded by screaming excited teenaged girls, but yes, I did go to the premiere of this action-packed second film in the Hunger Games franchise. As a soon-to-be 44-yr-old-man, I don't exactly fit the mold that these YA films are currently targeting, but I thoroughly enjoyed this new chapter regardless. I'm a fan of any movie with a strong hero/heroine protagonist, a good story, and lots of exciting action and adventure in the movies I watch. Catching Fire had all three for me. I personally thought Jennifer Lawrence gave an Oscar-worthy performance as Katniss Everdeen in the first film. And while she ended up winning the very same award for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook in 2012 anyway, I was happy. But if she isn't at least nominated for her performance as Katniss this time around, I'll be upset because she's that good folks! Highly, highly recommend this film and the one that came before it, The Hunger Games. MUST SEE!
