Review of The Hunger Games (2012) by Raji K — 24 Apr 2014
In the future a rebellion has occurred against the might Capitol and as a result, each district must have girl and boy chosen to participate in a survival of the fittest fight known as the Hunger Games.
This movie tries to tackle the issues of poverty, starvation and government control. These elements may be presented in the book, but in the movie they really are a backdrop and presented to just set the stage for the games themselves.
The movie is much more interesting once the games begin and particularly when Kat and Rue develop an alliance. Hunger Games was a solid movie and had some good moments and performances, but overall I found this to be overrated.
