Review of The Hunger (1983) by Michael T — 26 Sep 2008
Tony Scott is Ridley's brother who would later direct TOP GUN (he also directed TRUE ROMANCE, so I cannot hold TOP GUN against him). This horror film features the love scene between Deneuve and Sarandon that was not as hot as I had been told it was.
The rapidly ageing David Bowie shows some superb makeup FX. Deneuve and Bowie are vampires who pick up their victims in postpunk New Wave clubs (in that aspect, this film seems horribly dated). Worth watching but gore fans should not expect a lot of blood.
