Before I write my review-a bit of a "disclaimer".

I am in love with India. I am in love with the country and the people and my many friends. I am in love with Indian Stretchable Time, I am in love with the music and the mythology and the history; and with (just about) any and all things Hindustani. Having said that, I have been there once, hope to go again in the not so distant future.

Now, not wanting to take up your time or too much of mine.

I, mistakenly, paid some attention to some reviews which were not favorable-or less than kind...like a few posted below.

I LOVED this movie! I am a big fan of Indian cinema and have seen many Indian movies; and can intelligently engage in current and pop culture discussions on "Bollywood" and its many "stars". My most favorite movie (the double superlative is deliberate) being "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" (looking forward to "The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" or "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2"-whatever it is that it will be titled).

And "Million Dollar Arm"-loved that, too!

This movie was great. I'm not sure if many critics still can "see" movies with the wonder and heart of someone looking at something with no preconceptions and an open mind. I feel that many have become jaded and I believe that for many, watching movies is just a "vocation"-but that's not my problem. In the world and times that we live in, I think we're lucky when we can spend an hour and a half or two, escaping from whatever realities we face-and with this movie, I call myself very lucky. I only have good words words for the acting or the writing.

Of course, I know Helen Mirren. I also know who Om Puri is; and Manish Dayal from the "reincarnation" of "90210". I liked Manish in that and even more in this. I was very happy to see Juhi Chawla, in a brief but pivotal part. In fact, at first, I wasn't sure that it was her. I was very happy with my suspicion confirmed while scouring the credits.

The music.... AR Rahman has a very identifiable "sound".The music suited the scenes and the movie perfectly.

Enough. Go see this for yourself.
