This film never strays too far away from its light and breezy optimism, which means a fairly straightforward beginning, middle and end.

Veterans Om Puri and Helen Mirren anchor the movie throughout, both demonstrating the struggles of bridging past and future (the actors could have further shone had there been more material with work with).

Compared to "Chef", there is more attention paid to the scenes of culinary conception and creation (again, another aspect that could have even further explored - especially the contrasts between the two cultures at the forefront of the film).
