Review of The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014) by Kavita P — 05 Nov 2014

What a lovely film. Thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end. And what a pair Helen Mirren and Manish Dayal make on the big screen. I'm not even sad that I didn't get to read the novel before I saw the film like I usually do.

This flick was full of humour as much as it emphasized tenderness and love. The resounding note of home is where the heart is rings throughout and overcomes the clash of two cultures. Incroyable!?! Ok so Mirren's French accent isn't always consistent and I scoffed at the scene with the immigration officer but though I knew where the story was heading I kinda just wanted to dive in and try all the visually appealing food.
