Review of The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014) by Glen K — 11 Jan 2015
I don't often give 4 star ratings for movies but this one really deserves it. Ms Hallstrom had done a masterful job directing an international group of stars that brings an amazing story of cultures, romance, family, and food together is a drama that really should win some awards.
The movie becomes a bit silly as the two restaurant families start their petty quarrel but soon it becomes more about the food and love story between the two young chefs. While the movie CHEF was a real disappointment in both acting, script, and attempt to use food as background, THIS movie is the successful one of the year.
Helen Mirren is terrific once again and I hope we see more of the other young actors.
